『発酵文化芸術祭　金沢―みえないものを感じる旅へー』大手町洋館（金沢21世紀美術館企画）

仙義梵（1750-1837）という江戸時代の臨済宗禅僧が「禅の極意」を丸と三角と四角で表しました。鈴木大拙はそれを「The Universe」と訳したそうです。

作品の一部は蚕自身が吐いて織りなした丸三角四角の絹布が、発酵の過程を経た藍で染められています。

円の360度は9の倍数です。三角の180度も9、四角の270度も9の倍数です。また、科学者のニコラ・テスラが発見したように、9を2倍ずつした数字の数字根（正の整数値の各位の和を求め、結果の値にも同じ操作を繰り返し、最終的に得られる 1桁の数）は必ず9になり、どのような多角形の内角の和も、数字根は9に集約されます。

そのため、9はギリシャ神話やインドの仏教でも死と再生、分解と循環を象徴します。

今回は、広義の発酵として、9的なるものについての展覧会を仮設したいと思います。

目に見える形に騙されてはいけません、丸も三角も四角も9、即ち、完全体です。禅の境地とは、むしろ等価であること、“差”が取り払われた地点のことを指しているのでしょうか。

ここに展示されているのは、地袋により終出した土砂、人為的に壊された陶片たち、淡尿で育った藍の葉、土に還る布、戦争に利用された微生物たちの働きについて。

作っては壊し、生まれては死ぬことは全て9と言えるのかもしれません。

この金沢という土地で、私には到底わからないようなことばかりを考えてみることにしました。

会場に置いているもの一覧

・蚕たちが自ら作った丸、三角、四角

・畑の土の中に埋めてた古い絹布

・その上で育った藍の葉とか（土も肥料も発酵している）

・図らずも地震で露出した粘土で作った壺（粘土も発酵している）

・能登半品の陶片（地震で割れたのではなく、人の手で駄作を壊したらしい）

・金沢の街で拾った陶片（陶片は土に還らない）

・戦争に利用された発酵の材料、あとは、秘密のものとか

Fermentation Culture Art Festival Kanazawa – Journey to Sensing the Invisible,Otemachi Yokan,  Kanazawa 21 century museum, Kanazawa

Clay, indigo, old silk fabric, grass, pottery shards, and more.

Sengai Gibon (1750-1837), a Zen monk from the Edo period, expressed the "essence of Zen" using a circle, triangle, and square. D.T. Suzuki translated this as "The Universe." Some parts of the work are silk cloth woven by the silkworms themselves, dyed with indigo that has undergone the fermentation process.

The 360 degrees of a circle are a multiple of 9. The 180 degrees of a triangle and the 270 degrees of a quadrilateral are also multiples of 9.

Additionally, as discovered by the scientist Nikola Tesla, the digital root (the sum of the digits of a positive integer, with the operation repeated on the result until a single-digit number is obtained) of numbers obtained by doubling 9 always results in 9. Similarly, the digital root of the sum of the interior angles of any polygon also converges to 9

Therefore, in Greek mythology and Indian Buddhism, the number 9 symbolizes death and rebirth, decomposition, and circulation. For this

exhibition, I a hke to present the concept of y as a form of fermentation in a broad sense. Don't be deceived by visible forms circle, triangle, and square all signify 9, meaning the complete form. Could it be that the essence of Zen refers to equivalency, to a state where all "differences" are eliminated?

On display here are works involving soil exposed by an earthquake,

shards or pottery broken by numan hands, indigo leaves grown in manure,

biodegradable cloth, and the role of microorganisms used in war. Perhaps creating and destroying, living and dying, can all be seen as part of 9. In this land of Kanazawa, I've decided to contemplate things I don't fully

inderstandl

Items displaved in the venue:

- Circles, tangles, and squares created by silkworms themselves

- Old silk cloth buried in the soil of a field

- Indigo leaves grown on the soil (both soil and fertilizer are fermented)

- Fragments of old cloth dyed with indigo (the indigo is also fermented)

- A jar made from clay unexpectedly exposed by an earthquake (the clay is also fermented)

- Pottery shards from the Noto Peninsula (not broken by the earthquake but deliberately destroyed by human hands as failed works)

- Pottery shards collected in the streets of Kanazawa (pottery shards do not

return to me sol

- Fermentation materials used in war, and a few secret items
